AQUA PARK RUTLAND DONATES TO LOCAL, LIFE-SAVING CHARITY

Aqua Park Rutland has wrapped up its third season at Rutland Water with a high-flying donation to local charity, The Air Ambulance Service.

Following four months of splash-tastic fun, the summer attraction has donated £1,100 to support the charity’s vital work in the Midlands.

The Air Ambulance Service operates the national Children’s Air Ambulance and the local air ambulance services for Warwickshire, Northamptonshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland, providing a rapid response to trauma and medical emergencies. The Air Ambulance Service has been Aqua Park Rutland’s chosen charity since it first opened in 2016.

Jo Payne, National Partnerships Manager for The Air Ambulance Service, said: “We’re delighted to receive these vital funds from Aqua Park Rutland. They will help us to deliver critical care to patients as quickly and as safely as possible.

“I would like to thank Aqua Park Rutland, which has supported its local air ambulance for the past three years, and visitors to the popular and thrilling attraction as they have directly supported the lifesaving efforts of the charity.”

Aqua Park Rutland’s third season has proved bigger and better than ever, welcoming more than 50,000 visitors between 26th May and 23rd September 2018. This summer’s unprecedented hot weather saw 100’s of families, groups and local sports teams leap at the chance to cool off while enjoying all the thrills and spills the park has to offer.

Now a summer staple in the Midlands, this year Aqua Park Rutland received a certificate of excellence from Trip Advisor and was also recognised by the Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS) as an official lifeguard training centre and accessor.

Richard Drinkwater, co-founder of Aqua Park Rutland, said: We’ve had a fantastic third season at Aqua Park Rutland, made even better by the glorious hot weather throughout July and August.

“We have supported the Air Ambulance service for three years and we are delighted once again to be able to hand over a donation that will help this much needed, local charity to deliver vital services in the region.”
