X Factor winner stars in Christmas concert spectacular

X Factor winner Sam Bailey, classical singer Katie Marshall and a gospel choir helped raise thousands of pounds during a festive concert at Leicester Cathedral.

The carol concert took place on Wednesday December 7 and raised £8,000 for our charity.

Sam, who was appearing in her home city, was joined for the glittering musical extravaganza by Rutland’s star soprano Katie and the award-winning De Montfort University Gospel Choir.

Sam, who triumphed in the X Factor in 2013,  is currently starring as Queen of the Flower Fairies in the Christmas production of Jack and the Beanstalk at Leicester’s De Montfort Hall.

Katie, who is only 15 years old and is an ambassador for our Children’s Air Ambulance service, has appeared at the O2 Arena and has been featured on the Downton Abbey Christmas CD. The De Montfort University Gospel Choir came second on the BBC Two show The Choir: Gareth’s Best in Britain.
