Dodson & Horrell announce support for DLRAA

Equestrian feed specialists Dodson & Horrell Ltd have announced their support for Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA), sponsoring a November lunch to raise funds for the lifesaving service.

The lunch will be held at the Ashlands Lodge in Illston on the Hill, Leicester on 22nd November, under a marquee overlooking one of the most scenic views in Leicestershire. Tickets cost £47.50 per person, and include a drinks reception, two course meal, and entertainment for the afternoon.

Marketing director Sam Horrell, from Dodson & Horrell, said: “The air ambulance provides a vital role, and one that we are proud to support. Riders, whether competing or hacking out, can find themselves in places hard to reach by car, the speed of response combined with the ability to land close by makes the service not only unique but life-saving.”

Sophie Burt, senior fundraising manager, said: “We’re extremely grateful to Dodson & Horrell for their generous support. As our lifesaving service receives no government funding, events like this and support from companies like Dodson & Horrell are vital to keeping our helicopter flying.”

Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance went to 90 equestrian accidents in 2014 alone. Their AgustaWestland 109 helicopter is capable of travelling 185mph and landing anywhere twice the width of their rotor blades, allowing them to quickly and safely get to remote brindle paths and shows alike.

Each mission DLRAA goes out on costs around £1,700, and the charity completes around 1,000 missions per year, having completed over 7,000 since its inception in 2008.

To book your ticket for the event, please email Sophie Burt at Sophie.burt@theairambulanceservice.org.uk or call 08454 130999*. Tables will sell fast, so please RSVP by 6th November to ensure your place.
