30th shop opening in Chesterfield

A former patient of Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA) cut the ribbon on our 30th shop opening at 10.30am today, Friday 16th January.

Mark Graham, who was previously rescued by DLRAA, was the star at the grand opening of our latest charity shop.

The new shop is located at 22 Burlington Street, Chesterfield, in Derbyshire.

Staff and volunteers were there from 10:30am to staff the shop and raise awareness outside the shop, collecting donations and talking to people about volunteering with Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance.

Jo Payne, our national volunteering manager, who attended the opening, said: “We will be continuing our recruitment throughout 2015 to build our volunteer numbers and ensure we have supporter groups actively working in all key areas. We can’t do our vital work without the help of volunteers in our communities.”

To learn more about opportunities to volunteer with us, find your local shop here and drop in when you can. Alternatively, click here or call 08454 130999 for more information about volunteering.

The Air Ambulance Service does not receive any government funding. Our lifesaving missions are fuelled by your donations.
