We’ve been nominated for a recycling award

If you live in the Midlands, you’ve probably seen one of our clothing banks before. Well, we’re pleased to announce that The Air Ambulance Service (TAAS) has been nominated for Healthcare Recycler of the Year by The MRW National Recycling Awards 2014!

We’re extremely proud of our recycling programme, which is a huge part of our fundraising – so it feels great to be recognised nationally for our efforts.

The Air Ambulance Service (TAAS) has been nominated for Healthcare Recycler of the Year by The MRW National Recycling Awards 2014.

Justin Thompson, our head of recycling, is delighted with the nomination, saying: “We are incredibly passionate about recycling and the impact that it has both on the charity and the wider world and it’s great to see that passion be recognised by the recycling community. Just to be nominated is a great honour.”

We have 140 clothing banks around the country that each collect about 50-60kg of clothing every week, as well as operating a roadside collection service. The clothes we collect are sorted and sold, either in one of our 29 stores across the country, or overseas to provide low-cost clothing to people in developing nations.

The Air Ambulance Service does not receive any government funding. Our lifesaving missions are fuelled by your donations.
