Hette Helicopter featured on Amazing Spaces

An old helicopter of ours enjoyed a taste of fame when it was featured on George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces.

Hette Helicopter is the pet project of father and son team David Morton Snr and David Moreton Jnr. Their aim to turn the shell of one of our old helicopters into an eye-catching mobile home for fundraising caught the attention of Channel 4’s series George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces.

The programme showed Hette when she was barely started, then again when she had been completely refitted with a kitchen space, living room, and bedroom for Dave Jnr to stay in – complete with big cartoon eyes where the engine exhausts had previously been!

A former Paralympian swimmer, Dave Jnr travels around the country completing open water swims to raise money for our charity. The goal of the project was to make a truly unique space that could draw attention to our charity even when Dave was sleeping.

To donate to Dave’s campaign, you can go to his JustGiving page, or to book Hette Helicopter to come to you, you can get in contact with him via Hette’s Facebook page.

The Air Ambulance Service does not receive any government funding. Our lifesaving missions are fuelled by your donations.
